Goddess Earth

Acrylic on box canvas 80/80 cm. An important aspect of Mother Nature has been and remains an affectionate, caring and protective motherhood. The mother keeps the developing embryo in her womb. She gives shelter to the child, protects him from any influences with which he, being small and weak, cannot yet cope on his own.
She heralds rebirth, spiritual renewal in the process of earthly life.
As we approach the archetype, we become more and more aware of its paradoxical nature, its superhuman and inhuman qualities. We see that we are dealing with a psychic force with which we must contact if we do not want it to crush us. By refusing to contact her, we reject that which can support our new life.
We will see this especially clearly if we consider the natural aspect of the mother archetype. A person must be able to live in accordance with nature. Our mental life and our physical existence depend on this, since the spiritual person also needs physical maturity.
To understand this, we must look to nature.
Nature is also something that is inside the psyche. This is exactly what we call the unconscious; this is the part of our psyche that has remained untouched by consciousness. As we know, this is mainly the passive part of the unconscious, associated with the mystery of matter.
