Mural Painting
A work of art that is painted directly onto a wall or ceiling – inside or outside. The word mural originates from the Latin word “murus” meaning “wall”.
This specialist art form requires expert knowledge of surface preparation, using specific techniques to not only ensure the paint adheres well to the surface, but also remains there through the use of specialist varnishes or protective acrylic glazes. Whether it is a child’s bedroom, public space, private room, outside terrace or pool area, a mural can make a real colourful statement.
You will find the list of our mural artists summarised below – just click on a profile to find out more about each artist; and if you contact any of them, please let them know you found them through this Algarve Art website.
