Kerstin Wagner was born near Cologne, Germany and graduated in 1987 in Fine Art Painting in Bonn/Alfter and in 1989 in ‘Art in Sozial Development’ at the Alanus Art Academy.
She is also a member of the International Association of Art and the Algarve Artists Network.
Her paintings emerge from the creative tension between Dynamic Expression and quiet meditation. Both are essential emotions in the understanding of Kerstin’s way of thinking, and her creative process leads to the blending of colour and movement in perfect harmony.
Her artwork includes dynamic seascape paintings, in wet in wet acrylic technique and also circle paintings with pure pigments, which create a very deep velvet-like texture.
Due to her innovative and variable approach, the art of Kerstin appeal is multifarious and creative and she always offers a new perspective. Her art shines with a colour and vibrancy that reflects the cultures surrounding both Portugal and Germany, and her travels, which are also a deep source for her creativity.
Since 1987 her artwork has been shown in more than 180 exhibitions, mainly in Europe and also in Asia as well. In 2015 she took part in the first International Artist Residency in Goa, India and exhibited in 2016 in the MOG, Museum of Goa.
In 2017 she had a solo show ‘Agosto Azul’ in the Museu de Portimão followed by a solo show ‘Variações Dinâmicas’ in Antigo Paços do Concelho de Lagos, which is running from the 25th September to the 3rd November 2017.
